Brushed stainless in 500mm, 710mm and 900mm. The medium 710mm post is our recommended pick for most drives.
How do telescopic bollards work?
A steel sleeve is set in concrete in your drive, with a lid that sits flush with the surface. The bollard lives inside it.
To protect the car, you unlock the post, lift it by the handle and it locks in the raised position. To drive out, you unlock it, lower it back into the sleeve and close the lid. It takes a few seconds.
There's no power, no cabling and no app. Nothing to charge, nothing to break down.
The 500mm posts weigh about 6kg to lift. The taller 710mm and 900mm stainless posts are about 18kg. If that's too much, a lift-assist bollard takes most of the weight for you.
How fitting works
One post takes about two hours. Two or three posts are usually done in a morning.
Check and scan
We check utility records and scan the spot for buried cables and pipes before we touch the drive.
Core the drive
We core drill through the surface and dig down: 700mm for a 500mm post, a full metre for the 710mm and 900mm stainless posts.
Set the sleeve
The ground sleeve goes in dead level and is set in concrete, so the post can't be pulled out.
Make good and hand over
We make good the surface around the lid, test the post and hand you the keys.
Which telescopic bollard is right for you?
Galvanised steel, from £629
The lowest price in the range. Plain galvanised steel copes with weather and road salt, and suits any house.
Colour, £659
The same 500mm post, powder-coated in black, red, white, yellow or silver. Pick a colour to match the house, or a bright one so it's easy to see when you're reversing.
Premium stainless, £695
A 500mm post in marine-grade 316L stainless steel. It stays looking new with very little upkeep.
Medium stainless, £995 (recommended)
710mm tall and 101mm across, with a steel inner sleeve and a metre in the ground. It has far more presence than a 500mm post and suits most cars and SUVs.
Large stainless, £1,149
Our tallest telescopic post at 900mm, for large SUVs, vans and drives where you want it to be impossible to miss.
For vans and high-value cars, also look at our heavy-duty bollards. Still not sure? Our guide on which driveway bollard you need walks you through it in two minutes.
How much do telescopic bollards cost?
Every price is supplied and fitted, per post. That includes the cable scan, coring, the sleeve set in concrete, making good, two keys and taking the waste away.
Each extra post on the same job is £50 less. We're not VAT registered, so the price you see is the price you pay. There's no survey fee or call-out charge for homes.

Questions about telescopic bollards
How much do telescopic bollards cost?
Fitted prices start at £629 for galvanised steel, £659 for a colour, £695 for 500mm stainless, £995 for the 710mm medium stainless and £1,149 for the 900mm large stainless. Each extra post on the same job is £50 less.
Are telescopic and retractable bollards the same thing?
Yes. Both names describe a post that lifts up to lock and lowers into a sleeve in the ground when you want to drive over it.
How heavy are telescopic bollards to lift?
Our 500mm posts weigh about 6kg to lift. The 710mm and 900mm stainless posts are about 18kg. If lifting is a struggle, a lift-assist bollard brings it down to about 7kg.
What's the difference between galvanised, powder-coated and stainless?
Galvanised steel has a zinc coating that protects it from rust. Our colour posts are galvanised first and then powder-coated, so they're protected twice. Stainless steel doesn't need a coating at all and keeps its finish with very little upkeep.
Can a telescopic bollard go in any driveway?
We fit into block paving, tarmac, resin, concrete and most other hard surfaces. Gravel drives are fine too: the post is set in concrete, with a small concrete pad around the lid. Very soft ground and sites that flood regularly aren't suitable.
How long does fitting take?
About two hours for a single post. Two or three posts are usually done in a morning.
Do I need planning permission?
Not usually for a bollard on your own private driveway. Listed buildings, conservation areas and shared access can be different. See our planning permission guide.
What if I lose a key?
Every bollard comes with two keys, and we can supply replacements or change the lock.
Where we fit
We fit across North Hampshire and Berkshire, from Basingstoke to Reading, Farnborough, Newbury, Andover and Winchester.
